Sleepwell Project

As part of the Association’s objective to promote the welfare of its members, the Sleepwell Project was introduced to support cocoa farmers by ensuring they obtain adequate rest after long hours of labour. Adequate rest is essential for restoring energy and improving productivity. This initiative aligns with Specific Objective 11 of the Association, which “seeks to promote the general welfare of the ordinary cocoa farmer co-operator and household, including pension, health, education, timely farm inputs, and related support services.”

The Sleepwell Project is an initiative of the National Secretariat of the Ghana Cooperative Cocoa Farmers Association (Union), aimed at providing quality and affordable mattresses to its members. The project is implemented in collaboration with Latex Foam, allowing members to acquire mattresses on credit at subsidized prices, with a repayment period of six (6) months.

The pilot phase of the project commenced on 7 November 2025 and ended on 19 December 2025. During this period, mattresses were delivered to an additional 14 cooperatives, with a total distribution of 1,777 standard mattresses and 566 student mattresses.
