Ghana Cocoa Farmer Cooperative Registration

Ghana Coop. Cocoa Farmers & Mktg. Assoc. Ltd (GCCFA) and Solidaridad West Africa-Ghana are collaborating to improve the governance structure of GCCFA and ensure representation from cocoa farming regions. This involves registering cocoa farmer cooperatives across various regions in Ghana, including Ashanti, Central, Western, Western North, Eastern, Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East. The aim is to establish an umbrella body to enhance the welfare of cocoa farmers and promote sector sustainability.

Before registration, regional sensitization meetings were held to gather insights and ensure a better understanding of the importance of cooperation among cocoa farmers.

Membership to GCCFA requires written consent, and cocoa farmer cooperatives are encouraged to register with the organization. For further information, cocoa farmer cooperatives can contact GCCFA via email at info@gccfa.org.

Additionally, GCCFA has partnered with a Farm Business Software company to provide a data management software solution. This software will be used to digitally profile all cocoa farmer cooperative unions and individual cocoa farmers, likely aiming to streamline data collection and management processes for better organizational efficiency and decision-making.
