Job Type: 1-year contract subject to renewal
Overview of Organization: The Ghana Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Association Limited, an umbrella body for Ghanaian cocoa farmers, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting and will play a key role in financial management, reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and auditing procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for the Association
- Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations.
- Manage tax compliance and filings.
- Conduct internal audits to establish and maintain internal controls.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Liaise with cocoa farmers, cooperatives, and industry partners to address financial queries and concerns.
- Utilise accounting software relevant to the cocoa industry for efficient financial management
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and funding applications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Proven work experience in accounting with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Fluency in Twi is a plus.
